Kit includes:
Tiller spring, stop collar, screws, and loctite threadlocker
- Starting in 2017 we introduced a self-centering steering system, this tiller spring returns the rudder back to center once you remove your foot from the steering pedal.
- No more adjusting back and forth to keep the canoe straight, you only need to tap the pedal left or right to make course adjustments or turns.
- A beneficial safety feature of the tiller spring is that if you were to have a steering cable fail while you are out on the water, the rudder will stay centered, allowing you to paddle steer your way back to shore.
- Over time, the spring can wear out – to extend the life of your spring and your canoe in general, we recommend rinsing your canoe thoroughly after paddling in saltwater.
